I agree! I absolutely love women singers with deep, soulful voices. Most of today's singers show off a lot by going up and down the musical scale, proving they have range. Sade is a throwback to the classic singers (like the ones on your "birthday" page) who just sing with lots of emotion, and in a key and pitch range that the song actually calls for, rather than trying to go over the top every time. It's hard to explain but I think you know what I mean. Sade could outsing 99% of today's singer even in range, but she stays simple and powerful, and that to me is more impressive than watching some American Idol dazzle the judges with a 5-octave performance.
BYTE: One question - when you listen to stuff on your computer, which speakers are you listening to? iMac's? Or do you have a 2.1 system for your iMac like you do for the living room? Or is it all the same one... I forget.
I use my Klipsch 2.1s, but if they're being flaky, I use my Sennheiser 650 headphones. Either way it's a treat :o) I need to replace that Klipsch system soon, though. The left channel cuts in and out, and there is a bunch of static now when I use the volume dial. It still sounds great when it's working, but it seems to be dying slowly. That's ok though because it's served me well for a decade now. I can't complain.
