Is that real?
Absolutely. I've seen them! They tool around like that that when they're fleeing from a predator or get startled. Other than that, they stay put and filter-feed. It's amazing isn't it?
I lived most of my life thinking scallops probably just sat on the bottom of a reef area and did nothing of interest. I was totally shocked when I saw them swimming around!!!
Some large clams do the same thing to change locations if they aren't getting food to come by their location. They don't look as cool as the scallops though. Scallops are the funniest things in the ocean.
Wonder if that's where they got the idea for pacman....
Maybe :)
Just need a line of fish pellets and some ghost shrimp.
