(bauhaus)
there outta be
something better
a better singer
a better actor
better job
better money
better get her
a better lover
better not
too much luck
too much conceit
give me one religion
it's too much
too much passing
information
too much selfish
too much fake
too much computer
too much to take
it's too much
too much effort
too much, kid
too much control
control
it's too much
bet you want to
be something better
a better singer
a better actor
better job
better money
better get her
better love her
better not
ready?
a better human
it's too much
it's too much
oh yeah.

Guess I'll kick this off myself. Peter Murphy is back, and this is probably the best song off what is quite a good "reunion" album for Bauhaus, its first new material under that name in 25 years.
Of course Murphy and bandmates, reorganized as Love and Rockets (as well as side projects Tones on Tail and The Bubblemen, and 2 solo efforts each from bassist David J and lead guitarist Daniel Ash), have kept active in the alternative music scene all the while.
Peter Murphy has recorded 7 studio albums as a solo act and had a #1 Alternative hit in the US with "Cuts You Up," and Love and Rockets have recorded 7 studio albums themselves, 5 of which made the US Alternative Billboard charts, and one song ("So Alive") reaching #3 on the US Singles chart.
The band briefly reunited for a tour as Bauhaus in 1998 and stayed at least conceptually a united band through 2006's album Go Away White. Word on the street, though, has it that there was some internal feuds and the band is now defunct again (i.e., will not be working on new material again), though nothing has yet been announced.
The band were formative in the changeover from the 70s to the 80s in creating the post-punk subculture now termed "Goth" or "Darkwave," though these terms didn't even exist at the time Bauhaus were at their height. The name comes from the minimalist art movement in early 20th century Germany (qv).
great first song to a fantastic album, especially for a bunch of old geezers.
