1. I try to stay organized and keep track of all my things, but for some reason my favorite jeans keep getting ripped up by my pet Snow Leopard.

2. I thought it was the murmuring of people, but when I turned around I discovered a train coming on the tracks behind me.

3. The way in which a politician could best serve the country would be to move to another country and steal from them.

4. Feeling a cat paw upon my face, I opened my eyes only to witness the splendor of the world as the sun comes up and wakes me from my dream.

5. I blame this headache on one thing — the utter nonsense of me trying to compete in this contest. Good thing I don't have to make my living writing.

Haha!! Good ones :D

Thanks, I didn't even think you'd participate in this!

1. I try to stay organized and keep track of all my things, but for some reason my favorite jeans keep sneaking up on my and kicking me in the back of the head when I'm making lists or cleaning the place. I'll have to send a "cleaner" to go take care of them.

2. I thought it was the murmuring of people, but when I turned around I discovered it was the shrunken, severed head of all my childhood dreams bemoaning this mundane existence.

3. The way in which a politician could best serve the country would be to tie a rope around his neck and launch himself from a circus cannon over the rail of the Golden Gate bridge.

4. Feeling a cat paw upon my face, I opened my eyes only to witness a large mountain lion, purring and 'perspiring heavily' around the mouth.

5. I blame this headache on one thing — the utter and complete lack of meaning imbued upon mankind and the boundless void in which he yet finds himself trapped, a machine without a purpose, a life story without a moral message, a joke without a punchline; on the profound ineffability of Nature in her stunning array of guises, beautiful and inscrutable laid out seductively before us, passive as the still air of dawn yet threatening as the deep sea; on all of the endless thoughts which break like tsunamis upon the defenseless shoreline of my skull and threaten to pull back with a mighty sweep, pilfering the debris of all that was once sane in my mind, all that was lovely or innocent, as yet untouched by madness; and of course, mostly on the simple lack of coffee or soda I've had today. Darned caffeine!

1. ...prefer a loucher existence and frequently arrive home at five in the morning, reeking of cheap booze and even cheaper perfume, you'd never guess that we otherwise have so much in common.

2. ...that my cats were in a huddle, conspiring in a rather disquieting manner involving baseball bats, man-eating tiger impressions and "cut the kibble, where's our fish?" placards, which by the way, were amazingly well-written considering the lack of opposable thumbs.

3. ... pay heed to Rousseau and unlock the manacles.

4. ... the darn beast's mangled daily offering being eagerly dangled in front of my nose.

5. ...lack of self-control exhibited during last night's escapades; with this much experience you'd think I'd have learnt by now.

Booze and cats (a bit of Rousseau for good measure). Lived up to your billing as usual, Raels! Thanks for playing :o)

Thank you very much me dear :) Between the two of you
you took the mountain lion and snow leopard options, so I decided to keep it domestic.

I liked this post very much. A good idea of yours. Perhaps you could make it a regular feature.

Thanks for the feedback and the suggestion, Raels! I like your idea of making it a regular feature, I will strongly consider that. :D

I try to stay organized and keep track of all my things, but for some reason my favorite jeans keep walking away.

I thought it was the murmuring of people, but when I turned around I discovered a covey of quail

The way in which a politician could best serve the country would be to tell the truth.

Feeling a cat paw upon my face, I opened my eyes only to witness a tiger looking mighty hungry!

I blame this headache on one thing — the utter truth that I was drunk as a skunk.

Hmm.... maybe Hans and Raelha were out together drinking the previous night!

Thanks for playing :)

I'll try to come up with more interesting 'partial sentences' that have more possibilities next time, or maybe leave blanks in the middle of sentences, like a Mad Libs book!

Any other suggestions are welcome, too. I like word play and word games, so I'm up for trying anything.

Faux anagrams using the letters of our names... fake words that sound real... so many good things you can do with words.

I like the sound of made-up words that sound real. Margaret Atwood mentions that game in one of her novels, maybe Alias Grace, I can't remember. Though I do recall thinking when I read it, "what a briliant idea!".

Partial sentences don't have to be that exciting. In fact, I'd say the more mundane the beginning, the more fun it is to write the unexpected and turn it into something original.

Good advice on both accounts, Raelha! Thanks.

Ohh I forgot about Adromeda... mmm... maybe she was the girl who led out Perselus from the dungeon of the minutaur.... or that was Theseus? Hm....

The last one supposed to go to the greek god post, soooorrriiiiiii! :)

No problem. Andromeda was the princess chained to the rock to be eaten by a sea monster, who was saved by Perseus after he had killed Medusa. Her dad was King Cepheus, which gives us our modern name for "variable" stars (ones which brighten and dim at regular times) - Cepheid stars.
