Untitled.

I'm afraid of the sky
It's so big
There is so much empty blue for all my empty dreams to fill in
At night it turns into nothing, but there
Are pinhole lights, uncountable
They make shapes I don't like and never did
I'm afraid of the sky
I have always turned my face to the warm earth
Where things grow and there is no
Prospect of endless forevers.

Ah, too true! The is beautiful but it's so terrifying. But only at the surface, when you don't know what's lurking below. When you dive and see what's down there, you relax completely. At least I do.

This reminds me of my youngest daughter who has written somewhere that she is afraid of the sky.

I don't find the sky scary. To me it represents freedom and the comforting knowledge that it's all so much bigger than I am. What a relief!
