The Drugs Don't Work.
(The Verve)

All this talk of getting old
It's getting me down my love
Like a cat in a bag, waiting to drown
This time I'm comin' down

And I hope you're thinking of me
As you lay down on your side

'Cause the drugs don't work
They just make you worse
But I know I'll see your face again.

Now the drugs don't work
They just make you worse
But I know I'll see your face again.

I know I'm on a losing streak
'Cause I passed down my old street
And if you want me to show, then just let me know
And I'll sing in your ear again

But now I know...

The drugs don't work
They just make you worse
But I know I'll see your face again.

funny. i heard that song on launchcast about a year ago and it's still my favorite verve song. in fact, a lot of their other stuff is simply mediocre. but when they were on, they were on.

Agreed. The album had 3 or 4 standout tracks and then generic alt-rock filler. Kinda like Pablo Honey in that way, but then again, the Verve never went on to make OK Computer.
