You Will Be a Cool Parent

You seem to naturally know a lot about parenting, and you know what kids need.

You can tell when it's time to let kids off the hook, and when it's time to lay down the law.

While your parenting is modern and hip, it's not over the top.

You know that there's nothing cool about a parent who acts like a teenager... or a drill sergeant!

You Will Not Be a Cool Parent

And that's pretty okay. While your kids may not think of you as a friend, they will respect you.
You know that kids need discipline and structure, and you're not afraid to give it to them.
Just be careful that your strictness doesn't lead to rebellion.
It's good to have standards and rules, but you don't need to have an iron fist when enforcing them.

I have to comment that since I'm a grandma by now, things have probably changed at my views of how to raise kids.

Yeah, I don't think you were overly strict by any means, and didn't like to discipline but knew you had to. I think you wanted us to like you, but sometimes (ok, often probably) we got on your nerves and then you'd have to be strict.

I still think of you as my friend though and not just a mom! So this is inaccurate.

It's obviously aimed at a younger set - "You WILL BE..." Er, most of us already are.
