Philip Pullman has a fairly new novella which takes place in Lyra's world, and involves the meeting between two of my favorite characters, Iorek Byrnison and Lee Scoresby (and presumably his daemon Hester). It's already on my Christmas & Birthday lists and I can't wait to read it. At 114 pages, it's a bit slimmer than I'd hoped, and surely doesn't herald the beginning of a new saga. But still!The hardcover binding for this first edition looks quite elegant and sturdy. I wants it, my precious!
