I love everything about this: the scale (obviously a large ol' oak), the curvature of the trunk and branches, the fuzziness of the leaves, the sky peaking out, the overall non-color, the composition, the mystery! I'm wowed.
Very, very nice. What more can I say beyond empath's comments.
i think that might be the coolest picture i've ever seen. creatively inspiring, technically flawless. well done!
Thanks everyone! I appreciate you taking the time to look and to post. It's encouraging for me too.
disillusionist - you have an artist's eye! Glad you're here.
Beautiful photo. Trees are just such great models though, they can hold poses for quite some time. And very cheap, just give 'em a cuddle and say thanks.
Thanks you and exactly! I haven't worked up the "stones" to ask random people off the streets (who might well be "the terrorists," after all) to pose or even worse (or better), just sneak up on some luvly family setting and start snapping away candid shots.... So I take pictures of trees, and rocks, and house wiring, and duct tape, and ducks, and animated dinosaurs I see outside my window, and UFOs, and fruit bats, and breakfast cereals... things that can't look me in the eye and tell me to get lost ya creep. Although there WAS this one rock... nevermind, long story.
