What does it take to win your heart anyway?
How do men slip and slide into your life,
Treat you good and bad and underhandedly break your heart
How could somebody actually leave you?
I don't understand. But then I've never understood.
I'm a straight shooter and my heart is good,
I don't play chinese whispers. I don't love and run.
I just want to hold you fast beneath the sun.
¤ And feel good forever ¤

What an amazing poem, Justin. Simple yet so profound...I'll teach this to my 9th graders who I am introducing to criticism...
Thank you!! It certainly is simple. And it's as honest as they come, it's not a hypothetical situation. But now things have taken a turn for the worse, and my " " (whatever you want to call her) has pushed me away, and I'm getting fed up with the whole situation. I'm pretty much giving up hope on it in fact, and I'm pretty down about it. So expect lots more brimstone and misery in the future rather than this namby-pamby nature and happiness crap!
Half-kidding, of course.
Yours, Justin
P.S. As usual, you flatter me by actually sharing or "teaching" my poem to others. *blushes* It's ok to say it's rotten!
